SEPTEMBER 20 READING…ZECHARIAH 5-8 & ROMANS 15
The Lord is a God of redemption…He is always calling His people back to Himself. He has already told the people of Israel and Judah that His plans were to prosper them, and for good. He doesn’t change His mind, nor His plan. Zechariah is given visions from God to let the people know what is in their future. But, getting to that future will not be easy. This is not because the Lord is making it intentionally difficult, but because of the people’s continued disobedience. Zechariah reminds the people of their ultimate hope, that Messiah, the Branch of David, is coming…he even gives His name…Yeshua, Joshua/Jesus. In Romans we are called to bear one another’s burdens. We don’t live unto ourselves, but for one another. As we live as part of each other’s lives according to the Lord’s plan, our corporate existence brings glory to God. It’s in this properly relating to God first, and then to one another, that we find joy, peace, and hope through the power of the Holy Spirit within us.
