SEPTEMBER 18 READING…2 THESSALONIANS 1
Jesus taught His Apostles and us that in this world we will have trials and tribulation, but we can be of good cheer for Jesus has overcome the world. We should expect opposition from a world that has rejected and hates our Jesus. The world does not mind a “Jesus” that is created in their image…but Jesus isn’t who we want Him to be, He is who He is. We as followers of Jesus should expect opposition when we follow the Lord. Our Lord told us it would be this way…and we should also be very concerned when the world has no concern about the Gospel and the existence of the church. We don’t have to worry about what people say and do against us, nor do we need to try to retaliate for what they do…God will bring just, He will repay. When the Lord comes, He will come in righteous judgment and will punish those who have rejected Him and rebelled against Him. There is no one who will get away with evil, the Lord sees all things, and He knows the hearts of people and the intent of their hearts. They do their evil deeds in darkness…but God will bring them to the light, and give everyone what they desire…and existence without God. We believers need to be thankful to God for the call He has on our lives…that He would use us in His kingdom work…and we need to pray for one another as we walk this journey.
Please share your thoughts.
