SEPTEMBER 11 READING…1 THESSALONIANS 1
A crucial component of our understanding and sharing of the Gospel is too often missing. We have the doctrine right…that is we are faithful in sharing the genuine Gospel. Secondly, we have the willingness to obey the Scripture and share the Gospel with those who don’t as of yet know the Lord as their Savior. But what we too often neglect, and it is crucial, is that the Gospel was never meant to go out just in word, or in faithfulness of sharing, but always in the power of the Holy Spirit. Without the presence and power of the Holy Spirit the Gospel can neither be properly shared, or genuinely received. God forbid that we would ever think that sharing the glorious Gospel message of Christ is about us, or about who we share it with…may God help us to see that it is ALL about Him. I am not saying that proper understanding of what is the Gospel is unimportant…nor am I saying the need to share the Gospel is unimportant…but what I am saying is that without the power of the Holy Spirit the genuine sharing of the Gospel cannot happen. So, before we share what we know to be true, we must seek the guidance, the presence, and the power of the Holy Spirit. For we must always remember that it is the Holy Spirit that brings salvation, not the ability or the convincing words or we humans.
Please share your thoughts.
