SEPTEMBER 11, 2023 ~ THEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

SEPTEMBER 11 READING…JOB 38 & PSALM 104 & ROMANS 6

When the Lord speaks into our lives, things get put back in order in our lives…truth is they were never out of order with God. In his ignorance Job has challenged God, and now he is about to get what he wanted…for God to answer. It will become clear quickly, that he has overstepped with God. I see and hear people shake their fists at God, and challenge Him, like He either an equal or and inferior. I guarantee that people that do that really don’t want God to answer them. God reminds Job that he is not God…nor could he ever begin to fully comprehend what God comprehends. We also, cannot fully comprehend who God is, or why He does what He does…that is where faith comes in. We know what we know about God and His mighty work, because He has chosen to reveal it to us…not because in our wisdom we have figured it out. The Psalmist glorifies the Lord and His great works. We are called to do this also…as we do we express our faith in God, who is far greater than we are, and is gracious in allowing us to know Him. The greatness of God is seen in His ability to forgive sin. This is not a small thing, as Paul reminds us in Romans. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, we have been moved from death to life…this becomes our position before God in Jesus. We were condemned and dead to God because of our sin…now that Jesus has paid the price for our sin…we have been given life from God, and now we are dead to sin. Paul reminds us that now that our position is forgiven, and alive in Christ, that our daily walk ought to mirror our position. In other words, if our position is that we are dead to sin, then our practice ought to show we are dead to sin. We were not saved to continue in sin, but we were saved to walk in the new life in Christ Jesus.

Please share your thoughts.
