SEPTEMBER 1 READING…JOB 17-19 & PSALM 102
The Lord is our only hope! We may live on this earth for 70-100 years, and that is not a snap of the fingers when compared with eternity. The Scripture says our life is but a vapor…we are here, and then we are gone. Our days on this earth are in the Lord’s hands…but so is our eternity. The Psalmist reminds us that our existence is solely based on the goodness of God’s grace. Who can fully know the mind of God, or His plan? He allows us to know some things, while He chooses to refrain from giving us so much information. That is why we must trust Him. Too many times people try to speak into our lives things they cannot possibly know. We used to say in the military…”that information was beyond their pay grade”. We must be very cautious about speaking into someone’s struggles and circumstances beyond our pay grade. Job’s friends thought the knew, what they could not know…so in their ignorance they they hurt more than they help.
