OCTOBER 31 READING…EZEKIEL 13-15 & GALATIANS 5
Those who speak false things and attribute their words to the Lord is not a small thing. When false prophets and prophetesses speak their corrupt words and attribute them as coming from the Lord, they make God a liar in the eyes of people. They literally are taking the Name of the Lord in vain. God will not be made a liar, nor will He tolerate those who attempt to do so. We never have to worry about God being incorrect on anything…we do need to be concerned about those who claim to speak for God being incorrect. If they claim to speak prophecy from God, and are ever wrong, they are false prophets. The Old Testament says they are worthy of death. They are presenting a false message…a false god…and they are leading the people into idolatry. God will judge the false prophets, the false prophetesses, and those who commit idolatry. These people have brought on the destruction of Jerusalem. It is God’s design for we who are His followers to walk in the Spirit…that is the only way we will not walk in sin through our flesh. Paul tells us that when a person is walking in the Spirit it is clearly seen through the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. It is also clearly evident when a person is walking in the flesh. If we walk in the Spirit, the things of God will be evident in our lives…if we walk in the flesh, the things of Satan will be seen in our lives. To walk in the Spirit is the only plan that God has for the believer…and it is contrary to who God has made us in Jesus to walk in the flesh.
