OCTOBER 30 READING…EZEKIEL 11-12 & GALATIANS 4
After the Spirit of God leaves anywhere, that place is set for judgment. There comes a time when God’s patience will be no longer. In the time of Ezekiel, we see it happening here in our reading. That time is also coming upon our world. The idolatry, and the corruption of both the political and religious leaders in Ezekiel’s time has nothing on what’s going on in our world. God is the Sovereign, and He is the Creator…rejecting Him, and His way, for this world, it’s corruption and ungodliness, will bring the judgment of God. That judgment came upon these corrupt religious and political leaders, as well as upon the nation of Judah as a whole. Because God had a covenant with Judah, the time would come for Judah’s restoration, after their time of discipline. When God pours out His judgment in the days ahead there will be no restoration, only destruction. Paul was concerned that the church at Galatia would leave the simplicity of Christ and return to that which brought them to Him. He was dealing with the false teachers and teachings of the Judiazers, who were telling people in order to be right with God they had to keep all the Old Testament law. Jesus had established a new covenant…making the old null and void.
Please share your thoughts.
