OCTOBER 13 READING…JEREMIAH 41-43 & HEBREWS 13
It is part of the fallen human condition to be rebellious. At the same time mankind is innately religious. But, our religions are more about us and what we want, than they are about loving, worshiping, and serving God. Jeremiah had to deal with a rebellious people who had seen their king killed, there land and holy city fall, and their fellow citizens taken captive…yet it made no difference. They remained a people that would continue to do that which brought the wrath of God. They would ask Jeremiah to give them God’s counsel…then they would do the opposite. They literally brought their own destruction on their heads because of their rebellion against God and His word. Our world, and sadly the church, are not much different…both are setup to please the desires of mankind, rather than to the One who created them. In Hebrews we are instructed to continue in love, to be hospitable, and to remember those who are in chains for the faith. We are to be obedient to the Lord…do not covet, and be content with what the Lord provides. Remember and honor faithful spiritual leaders…for they are accountable to God to watch over your soul. Stay true to sound doctrine. Always pray for one another. Continue to share the glorious Word of God that we have received.
Please share your thoughts.
