NOVEMBER 27 READING…JUDE 1
Jude was the half brother of Jesus. He doesn’t have a great volume to say, but what he says is powerful. Jude instructs us that when apostasy arises, and false teachers attempt to spread their poison, we are to fight, we are to contend, we are to do battle for the genuine faith that we have received in Christ Jesus. It is no small thing that some teach apostasy and false doctrines…they are destroying not only their own souls, but the precious souls of others. There is only one saving faith…for there is only one Savior, Jesus. Jude warns of those who have crept into the church, they have moved to places of prominence, and they have turned the grace of God into lewdness as they deny the Lord Jesus Christ. These apostate have always been…and they are around us today. They are not even ashamed of their heresies, they wear them like badges. The Methodist minister here in Fountain Hills, after I called him the apostate that he is, actually created a link to his church called apostate.org…apparently he has taken it down. These false teachers are proud and boastful…but they are also depraved and ultimately will be doomed. The day will come when they will face the Lord they have mocked and rejected, and they will be cast into the lake of fire for their wickedness. For we who love Jesus and desire to follow Him, Jude tells us to “contend earnestly for the faith which was once and for all delivered to the saints.”
