NOVEMBER 18, 2023 ~ THEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

NOVEMBER 18 READING…EZEKIEL 45 & ACTS 7

The Lord should always have THE place of prominence in every area and aspect of our lives. He has given us life…He has blessed us with so many things. These things are not bad, unless they take God’s place in our lives. God gave Ezekiel a vision of that which was to come for the reunited Israel. He told the prophet that there needed to be a Holy district that was set apart for the Lord. It was not that God needed an area of land, for the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof. The separating of the land was so the people would never forget that the Lord was to have preeminence…and that everything they have is a blessing from God. We can never forget that every blessing we know is from our wonderful, loving Heavenly Father. There is responsibility that comes with blessings…we must share the truth of God. In Acts we have Stephen who understood this. This deacon in the early church stood with the boldness of the Holy Spirit and spoke the truth when they drug him before the council. He shared the history of Israel to remind them of God’s goodness to give them His truth, but they would not listen. In this midst of Stephen share the glory of God, he stops…they would not hear. Stephen looks at them and called them stiff-necked and uncircumcised of the heart. They were filled with rage, but the Spirit was great in Stephen, and God opened up heaven for him to see. He declared he saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God…they killed him. His last words were to ask God to forgive them, just like his Savior. We have have been given so much…we have the responsibility to speak to truth until death…because for us, physical death ushers us into eternal life.

Please share your thoughts.
