NOVEMBER 10 READING…EZEKIEL 34 & PSALM 4 & JUDE 1
Though we are all capable of falling into temptation, and we all certainly fail…the Lord will not tolerate His children living in sin. Nor will God tolerate in His church irresponsible under-shepherds (pastors), ungodly behavior, or apostasy. Ezekiel tells us that irresponsible shepherds take care of themselves rather than the sheep. They scatter the sheep, when their task is to lead and take care of them…keeping them as a flock. They allow God’s people to wander aimlessly, without direction. They allow the people to become prey, and be devoured, without protection. The Psalmist tells us that the Lord will stand against all ungodliness…He will not tolerate that which is contrary to Him to remain among His people. Jude warns us of apostates, who teach their damnable heresies. They are to be marked for what they are, they are to be rebuked, and they are to be set out of the church. Jude reminds us that only God can keep us from falling into heresy, or falling under the influence of a heretic. Keep your eyes on Him my brothers and sisters…test ALL teachings according to Scripture…have Scripture, not a human, be your final authority.
