MAY 28 READING…2 SAMUEL 4-6 & PSALM 58
The Lord puts all things in order in His time. I know we would prefer that God do it in our time, but we need to trust that God’s time is best. Nothing gets by God, and because He is a righteous and true Judge, things will be just as He desires them. The Psalmist reminds us that God is the judge, and we can trust His judgments. He will have His vengeance against the wicked, and His righteous people will rejoice. David is continuing with the transition to king of Israel. Ishbosheth is murder, and David’s kindness is seen when he bring Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth into his palace. God gives David Jerusalem in battle, and David brings the Ark to Jerusalem. Things are set up in a great way as in God’s perfect timing David is now king.
