MAY 15, 2024 ~ A WALK THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT

MAY 15 READING…ACTS 9

It is always amazing to see when the Lord does His marvelous and gracious work in the life of a person. Our reading today is about when God moved upon the heart of Saul, and change that hard heart. I love to see how the Lord reveals Himself to Saul, and makes sure that Saul understood that he was not serving God in what he was doing to the followers of Jesus. Saul’s spiritual blindness was manifested in his physical sight when the Lord appeared to him. God was also moving in the heart of one of His disciples in Damascus by the name of Ananias. The Holy Spirit instructs Ananias to go to a certain location and give Saul back his sight. Understandably, Ananias was cautious about Saul, for he knew what he was doing to the followers of Christ. But God had a plan for Saul, and He intended to use Ananias for His purpose. Ananias lays his hands-on Saul and imparts to him the Holy Spirit. Immediately, Saul’s sight returns, he is empowered by the Holy Spirit and he begins to preach the Gospel of Jesus. Meanwhile, in Joppa God uses Peter to raise a woman named Dorcas from the dead. This was a good woman that the whole community knew. The Lord used this to bring many people to faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. God is ready to do His work through you and me…don’t be resistant to the Holy Spirit, for He is about to show you His power.

Please share your thoughts.
