MARCH 8 READING…LUKE 6
Jesus is confronted by the religious leaders for He and His disciples were walking through a field and plucking heads of grain and eating them on the Sabbath. This broke the traditional Sabbath law instituted more by the religious leaders, than by the Lord. Jesus made them even more angry, as He proclaimed that He is the Lord of the Sabbath, then He heals a man. Jesus gives the sermon on the Mount…clarifying the meaning of the Old Testament writings. Jesus also pronounces “woes” on those who are rich, self-satisfied, and feel like they need nothing from God. We are surrounded with people who have that attitude today. Jesus asked the question about why people would call Him Lord and then not do what He says. He reminds us to build our lives on a solid rock, and not on shifting sand.
