MARCH 6 READING…LUKE 4
Jesus faces temptation from Satan. Be aware that if Satan would tempt the Son of God…he and his demons will have no problem or hesitation tempting us. There are those that teach that the temptations prove that Jesus could not sin…I believe they prove that Jesus would not sin. The first approach shows that the temptations of Jesus were not actual temptations, while the second approach shows that the temptations were real. Temptations are not sin…but giving into them, bring sin. Jesus and His teachings are well received in the area of the Galilee, while being rejected in His hometown of Nazareth. Luke records for us Jesus casting out demons, healing Peter’s mother-in-law, and healing the sick throughout the region of the Galilee…while Nazareth, because of their unbelief, did not get to see or experience these miracles. We are called to believe and follow Jesus…could it be that we do not see many miracles of Christ in our world today because we are more like the people of Nazareth than the people of the Galilee?
Please share your thoughts.
