JUNE 6 READING…2 SAMUEL 23-24 & 1 CORINTHIANS 3
We are all accountable to the Lord. If we are not careful we spend too much of our time trying to please other people, and neglect to please the Lord. There is not a person you have ever met that you will stand before on Judgment Day…but you and I will stand before God. David’s last words expressed his understanding that his position, and his life, were because of the Lord. He understood that as king of Israel he was accountable to God. He was not perfect, yet he was God’s man. So, the Lord did many mighty deeds through David and his men, and God allowed David to prepare the way for his son Solomon to build the Lord’s Temple. In 1 Corinthians, Paul puts the emphasis on Christ, and reminds every minister of the Gospel that they are accountable to God. Trying to follow the many voices that we hear in this life leads to confusion…and it will ultimately lead to nothing being accomplished. We all must primarily listen to the Lord in all things. This does not mean that the Lord cannot speak through others in our lives…we just have to have biblical discernment to make sure that they are speaking the Lord’s words. We listen to the Lord, we obey the Lord…because we are all accountable to the Lord.
Please share your thoughts.
