JUNE 24 READING…2 KINGS 4 & MARK 5
God is a God of miracles…not because He’s required to do them, but because of His goodness and grace. I want to say right here that every child of God has already received the greatest of all God’s miracles. We were dead in our sins, we had no life in us, and no hope. The Lord literally raised us up from the dead and gave us eternal life. And now though we shall put off this physical tent when we die…we will not step in to death, but we will step into life eternal. For we believers, death is a graduation from this temporal life, filled with all its pain, sickness, and temporal joys…into eternity with Jesus, where ther is no more pain, sorrow, sickness, or death. In both our Old & New Testament readings we have the accounts of children brought back to life. The first a boy, whom God uses Elisha to bring back from the dead. In the second, Jesus raises a little girl that had died back to life. I think we would all agree that these were amazing miracles. But, as great as they were, they are but pictures of what God does when a lost sinner comes to Him and confesses their sin, and puts their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. God continues His miracle work of raising the dead back to life!
