JUNE 22 READING…1 KINGS 22 & 2 KINGS 1 & MARK 3
Satan, false gods, demons, and their false prophets cannot give what they do not have. To seek them either for good advice, or for a guaranteed outcome of a future event is folly. It is not only folly, it is an abomination in the sight of God. Only God knows all things…the knowledge of Satan, his demons, and his false prophets is limited at best, and guaranteed to be corrupt. In 1 Kings, Ahab king of Israel wanted to know the outcome of a war, but because he despised the prophet of the Lord, Micaiah, he sought the advice of false prophets. Sadly, Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, also trusted in the advice of these false prophets and went to battled with Ahab. With a “random” shot of an arrow an archer killed Ahab. Leaving Israel in Ahaziah’s hands, who also sought the counsel of the prophets of Baal in 2 Kings. This resulted in his death, and the throne taken out of the family of Ahab. In Mark 3, the opposition to Jesus continues, and increases to the point of the scribes declaring that Jesus did his ministry by the power of Satan. They blasphemed the Lord, and set their eternal destiny in hell. We need to stay in the Bible as followers of Jesus…we need to listen to the Holy Spirit…and we need to seek godly and biblical counsel. There are many voices out there vying for our attention. The world, Satan, the demons, and the false teachers and prophets have nothing for us. We must not listen to voices that are contrary to God…for all they can speak is what they have…and what they have is lies and deceit.
Please share your thoughts.
