JULY 5 READING…1 CORINTHIANS 2
Paul shares in our reading today two important truths that can never been lost on the believer. First, the Apostle emphasizes the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Jesus’ crucifixion was not an accident…as a matter of fact, He said it was why He came. He came to give His life as a ransom for our sin. The sinless One died, and I doing so satisfied the justice of a holy God, for we sinners. This truth moves our faith completely out of our hands, which we would surely lose it, into the hands of the Lord, who cannot lose anything. The second truth that Paul shares with us is that we are to walk and live by spiritual wisdom as followers of Jesus. Those without the Spirit of God cannot understand or apply the wisdom of God. Have you ever wondered why lost people don’t understand what seems so clear to you? They cannot…for they have rejected the Holy Spirit, and without Him they cannot know God or follow God. We know God through the revelation of the Holy Spirit…there is no other way to know Him. It’s not because we are wise, or good, or special…it’s all because of His amazing grace. This work of the Spirit in us gives us the mind of Christ, that we might rightly judge all things. So, walk in the Spirit, and see His wisdom manifested in your life.
Please share your thoughts.
