JULY 2 READING…ROMANS 15
The ground is wonderfully level at the foot of the cross. While there are different roles and leadership callings in the church, there is no hierarchy, except the one where Jesus is the head of the church. That being said, there are different levels of maturity in any growing church…by design. All who believe in Jesus are right with God in Christ, but we are not all at the exact same place in our spiritual growth. We exist as the body of Christ to edify one another’s faith. Some may be weak…those who are strong are to lift them up. Some may be immature in their faith...those who are mature are to help them grow up. Some may be struggling under a heavy burden…those who are strong are to help them carry that burden. We need to be careful that what is taught in the church is biblical truth, and not merely religious traditions or the requirements of mankind. Religion weighs people down…faith in Christ and biblical Christianity raise people up in the Lord. We live for each other…and we live to glorify God. We ought not to become an unnecessary burden on others in the church. We are called to walk together, lifting up each other to the Lord…praying that each of us keep the faith as we walk in this world.
Please share your thoughts.
