JANUARY 3 DEVOTION BIBLE READING: HEBREWS 2:1-4
God has a plan and a purpose for each of us. The key is to get close to the Lord in order to find daily direction for our lives. Once again it all goes back to a living vital relationship with God. There is no way we can know the Lord’s plan for our lives without being close to Him. He has given us prayer as a wonderful tool to get to know Him. He has given us His Word so that we can know His truth. He has given us His Holy Spirit to teach, lead and guide us in His way. He has also given us His church to be a place of instruction in His truths…also a place where our relationship with the Lord is encouraged by fellow believers.
The Lord does this not only that we may know Him, but in knowing Him, we find our purpose and direction in life. We are not meant to wander aimlessly wondering where we are going and what we should be doing. The Lord has some things He intends to do through each one of us. He promises to guide us in them all. He also promises to be there as we seek His will in planning and preparing to fulfill our God-given purpose. We need to remind ourselves that the Lord is at work all around us and He has privileged us greatly in allowing us to join Him in His great work. Our living, vital relationship with God in Jesus allows us to walk in biblical faith…responding to all God has given us and all way’s that God is leading us. I encourage you to seek the Lord daily and to follow His leadership in the planning, the preparation and the fulfilling of His perfect plan in your life.
