JANUARY 11 DEVOTION BIBLE READING: JOHN 1:1-13
The teaching of the universal fatherhood of God and the universal brotherhood of man is not biblically true. God is the Father of all who have been born again into His Kingdom. Biblically speaking, only those who are part of God's family through faith in Jesus Christ are brothers and sisters. What is true is that God is the Creator of all. There is nothing that exists that He did not create. Most all of man's theories on the existence of the created universe and the existence of man, happen without God being necessary...or at least the God of the Scriptures. Evolution is atheistic by its nature and it is completely contrary to the Scriptures. Theistic evolution is a compromise of biblical truth to try to make everyone happy...while making nothing true. The Bible is clear..."In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Everything that exists not only exists by God, but for God. Mankind was created in perfection...created to walk with God...created to have a living relationship with Him. Sin entered in to the hearts of man; this sin caused the relationship to be broken and man became estranged from God. God never changed His mind or purpose for why He created man...so in the fullness of time He sent His Son. Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took on the flesh of His own creation...lived a perfect life...willingly went to the cross to be our substitutionary atonement, paying for our sin...died there and was buried...and three days later rose from the dead, overcoming sin, death and hell for all who believe in Him. Jesus is the only way to enter God's family...in Him our relationship that was broken by sin is restored. When life is over everyone will stand before God, either as your welcoming Father or your eternal judge.
