FEBRUARY 2 READINGS…Exodus 4:18-7:13.
A great lesson is learned in today’s readings…God is more than able! Sometimes our eyes cannot see how things are going to work out when God calls us to a task…or just in our Christian life in general. There is no guarantee that anyone else will understand or believe. It is almost certain that those who do not know God will not understand or respond to your God-given call. In our reading Pharaoh told Moses that he did not know his God, so why should he listen to Him. Things take time, and God always accomplishes things according to His timeline. In two days of reading we have gone through 80 years of Moses’ life. I know we want everything instantly…but we need to wait and trust in God…He will do what He has said, and He will do it on His timeline.
God knew what Moses was going to face…He also knew that Moses would have doubts. Once again we see the honesty of the Bible when it comes to our heroes of the faith…the Scripture does not attempt to hide their flaws. I have come to the place where I do not have “heroes of the faith”, in the sense that they are some kind of superhero. I have brothers and sisters who have come before me who I honor for their response to God’s call, even with their shortcomings. I have brothers and sisters that surround me toady that are doing the same thing in spite of their personal shortcomings. The only Superhero in the Bible is the Lord God Himself…the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God reminded a doubtful Moses…” I am YAHWEH-the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as EL-SHADDAI-GOD ALMIGHTY”. YAHWEH was telling Moses that He is the Almighty GOD who can do all things…and that He is the Eternal GOD who eternally who He is…there is no need to doubt. My brothers and sisters He is YAHWEH…He is EL SHADDAI; there is no reason to doubt Him…just trust and obey! We shall see the victory of God!
Please share your thoughts from today’s reading. Be bless as you rest in the promise of the One, True, Living, and Eternal God!
