DECEMBER 1 READING…NEHEMIAH 7 & ACTS 20
The building of the wall and gates is completed…now it is time for the people to come into the city, build their homes and live in peace. Now it was also the time to know who had returned from exile, and what was their line of genealogy. This was a new start for Judah…what would they do with it? This was the generation that got to see the promise of the Lord…but they eventually treated it with disdain. Later in their history they once again got to see the promise of God fulfilled in the coming of Messiah, and once again they treated Him with disdain. We have been given precious promises that God has fulfilled in our lives…how are we treating them? Paul in Acts was treating the living promise that was his with honor, respect, and a servant’s heart. He continued his ministry to Greece, and throughout that land until he finds his way back to Ephesus. He was both establishing and disciplining churches all over the known world. It really is incredible to consider how God was fulfilling His promise in the life of this one, who was once the persecutor of the church. I love seeing the Lord use those we would think He would never use…it is another proof that it is the work of God, and not man.
Please share your thoughts.
