DECEMBER 9 READING….ESTHER 8-10 & ACTS 28
Our comfort level, or our safety level should not determine if we do the right thing. We should do the right thing regardless of the cost. We venerate those who were willing to give themselves for a cause greater than self…as we should. The greatest of these of course is Jesus. Esther was a person like this also…she was willing to put herself in danger in order to save the Jews. It could have gone bad for her, she didn’t know…but she had to do the right thing. God used her for His glory, and to fulfill His plan. The Lord will always use us when we trust Him…trust is not a matter of what we know, but is seen when we don’t know, but we do anyway. I guess the bottom line is, when we know God…we know we can trust Him, no matter what. Paul’s life was a journey of trust. He trusted the Lord when he went to Jerusalem, against the advice of others. He trusted God in the shipwreck that landed him on Malta, even when bitten by a viper. Now he arrives in Rome, his final earthly destination…he would be in prison for years, and then beheaded. Who can argue that the Lord was glorified by Paul’s life, and that God used Paul’s obedience to touch lives even until today?
Please share your thoughts.
