DECEMBER 5, 2023 ~ THEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

DECEMBER 5 READING…NEHEMIAH 12-13 & ACTS 24

Nehemiah leads the people in dedication and restoration. When they finished the work on the wall, the people were called to dedicate it and themselves to the Lord. Then the man of God called the people to a time of restoration. God has called His people to be different and distinct from the world. He tells them to be separated from the heathen world…that command has never changed. They were told it was their responsibility to provide and take care of those serving in the priesthood. This also has always been the Lord’s design for his church…to provide and take care of those who minister in the Word. The Sabbath was given as a sign between God and Israel…and they were once again reminded of the importance of observing it. Then Nehemiah reminded the people that God forbid them from marrying those who followed after false gods, and paganism. This also should be true today. In Acts, Paul is privileged by God to speak to the dignitaries in the political and religious arenas. Though his physical chains would not be removed by Felix, who was fearful of igniting the Jewish leaders, Paul continued to get opportunity to share the Gospel with the leaders of the Roman forces. What a great opportunity the Lord afforded Paul. We too, should see every situation as an opportunity to share the good news

Please share your thoughts.
