DECEMBER 14 READING…ISAIAH 7-9 & PSALM 150 & REVELATION 5
Are you looking for hope in a hopeless world? Sadly, many people, including Christians, spend their lives looking for hope in the world…please listen, the world cannot give you what it does not have! The world we live in has deluded themselves believing that there is hope in money, possessions, politics, and religion. None of these can give hope…for they don’t possess it themselves. In the midst of Judah falling apart, even though they don’t know it yet, Isaiah gives the people hope. He tells them that the virgin shall be with child…and that child would be called Immanuel…God with us. Now that is hope, the Creator of the universe is with us. Isaiah also tells us about the Messiah, who is God with us. He will establish a new and eternal government…a government of both hope and peace. He is the wonderful Counselor…the Mighty God…the Everlasting Father…and the Prince of Peace. He is the child who would be born of a virgin…this child is the Son given to give the world hope. God can give hope…for He is hope! We have reason to praise the Lord who gives us hope in a hopeless world. We praise Him for who He is, and for all the mighty things that He has done. We praise Him openly, enthusiastically, and loudly with trumpets, lute and harp, the stringed instruments, and with loud clashing cymbals. Because we have breath…we praise the Lord! In Revelation, the Lamb of God, Jesus is praised by the hosts of heaven for who He is and all that He has done. He is about to return to a hopeless world and give hope and salvation to those who trust in Him. The time is soon, I hope and pray that everyone reading this is ready for His return. Let me encourage each of you…stop trusting in this world…stop looking in this world for something it cannot give…trust in the Prince of Peace who is coming soon to fulfill our hope.
Please share your thoughts.
