DECEMBER 10 READING…MICAH 1-4 & PSALM 46 & REVELATION 1
Micah was called by God to warning the people of Jerusalem of the impending judgment of God because of their wickedness. These people thought that they we sinning in obscurity…but, God sees and God knows. Sadly, the people would once again ignore the warnings of the prophet of God. Micah used the word of warning that Isaiah used, and that Jesus used, “woe”! Woe speaks of the impending judgment of God. Micah warned the evil doers, the lying prophets, and the wicked rulers and prophets. They needed to know and fear the fact that the Lord would one day rule in Zion. Once the people accepted and lived according to this truth…they would know the victory the Lord had for them. The Psalmist reminds us that the Lord is our only refuge…we can know no victory, or experience no prosperity apart from the Lord. In Revelation, John experienced the presence of the post-incarnate Christ. He sees him as the first and the last…the eternal God. The Lord appears to John to give him the message to His churches…and the warning to the world. The Lord is speaking to us today by His Spirit and through His Word. Let’s not be like Judah, let’s listen, heed, and obey the warning of the Lord.
Please share your thoughts.
