AUGUST 6 READING…1 CHRONICLES 27-29 & PSALM 30
1 Chronicles ends with the final preparations for the Temple, and the final transition of Israel’s throne from David to his son, Solomon. We are told of David’s death. We have talked before about the fact of transition from one leader to the other. It is always our hope that our present leadership are godly individuals, who lead as Jesus lead…as a servant leader. Likewise, we hope that any transition will be smooth, and that the new leader would continue the practice of leading like Jesus. We are finite beings, so our time in anything this side of heaven is limited…in that limited time we all need to live it unto the Lord, so that His name is glorified in our lives. In Psalms, David expresses his praise to God for His faithfulness. The Lord has healed him, and the Lord has sustained him. David realized that any blessings he experienced were from the Lord. He also knew that it was the Lord who was his helper and protector. The Lord in the life of David moved him to praise…David understood that the joy of life is found in the Lord. It is my hope that everyone reading this has found the joy of the Lord that is there for His children, regardless of the circumstances of life.
