AUGUST 30 READING…PHILIPPIANS 1
Philippians is one of Paul’s most upbeat epistles. It is a great encouragement to the church. You can see the Apostle’s love for the church at Philippi, and also his love for the church as a whole. Paul has found memories of this church, and he is very grateful to God for them. I hope you have experienced the love and care of a church family in your life. Church is not always easy, we get in the way of what God wants to do at times. Certainly, people have different motives for being at church…and being imperfect we miss so much and can hurt one another. It would be wonderful if everything was perfect in the church, every need met, and everyone involved in ministry…sadly it’s not like that perfectly. That’s why we need grace towards one another. One thing that is crucial in the church is that Christ is preached…and this means not only talked about, but lived. Paul reminds us that our lives are temporal…so as long as we live, we live Christ, and when death comes that is our great gain. Life is not always easy, but we need to remain in Christ, even when suffering comes, so that in our prosperity or our sufferings, Jesus is glorified.
Please share your thoughts.
