AUGUST 2, 5 & 6 READINGS…2 CORINTHIANS 6-8
The Lord knows your name, and he knows your faithfulness…even if no one else ever does. It is interesting that in our reading Paul references two ministers of the Gospel that were faithful. He tells the church at Corinth that these men are to be commended, but he does not give us their names. Do we think that their faithfulness to God has gone unnoticed because we do not have their names? Clearly the Lord sees and knows it’s. Most of us will never have our names written in a book…most of us will be remembered only by a very few, for a short time, after we die. But, God sees us…and God knows us. Paul warns the church to stay away from joining ourselves with the world. We have no union with those who reject Jesus…for Jesus has no union with the devil. We have one Father…He is the Lord Almighty, El Shaddai. We are encouraged to bless others as we have been blessed. This is not determined by the size of our bank account, but by the size of our hearts. Hardships are a reality, but God has given us each other in order that our burdens might be lightened. I am so grateful for those who daily lighten my load.
Please share your thoughts.
