AUGUST 13, 2023 ~ THEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

AUGUST 13 READING…2 CHRONICLES 19-20 & PSALM 48 & 2 THESSALONIANS 3

Just as important as how we begin is how we finish. We are called to remain in the Lord all the days of our life. It is a tragedy to see so many start strong in the Lord, only to turn away from Him in their latter years. There is a promise of reward for those who remain and do not fall away. There were good things about king Jehosaphat, he started his rule following God, and removing the idols in the land. Sadly, he was a man of compromise, and he would rather make allegiances with wicked men than follow the Lord wholeheartedly. His alliance with the wicked king of Israel cost him his whole fleet and everything he had accomplished. We should want to have what we do in the Lord to remain…don’t let your good work be erased by compromise and walking away from the Lord. In 2 Thessalonians, Paul calls us to wait patiently on the Lord…to stay the course in these wicked days. This is not a call to inactivity, but to active waiting. That is, continuing to do what the Lord has called us to do. To also stand against, and away from, the wicked. We must continue to follow the Lord in all things in these days…no compromise…no joining in alliances with the wicked…but, in prayer standing boldly in the Word of the Lord!

Please share your thoughts.
