AUGUST 10 READING…2 CHRONICLES 10-12 & PSALM 53
Sadly, after the death of Solomon the kingdom of Israel divides with Israel to the north, and Judah to the south. One would hope that at least one of the kings would have a heart after God…it would not be the case. So, slowly and steadily both kingdoms move away from the Lord. There would be good kings that would come, but their reforms and calling people back to God would be outweighed by the godless kings, and corrupt religious leaders. There is a literal rejection of God among a nation that God had established. Does that sound familiar? It should. We live in a time when God has been rejected by our political leaders…schools revise history to remove God’s providence in the establishment of our country…and religious leaders are moving into apostasy at breakneck speed, teaching the doctrines of demons instead of the Word of God. In Psalm we are reminded that it is the fool that denies God…seems we are being led politically, educationally, and even religiously by a host of fools. And yet, people continue to follow these foolish people like a group of lemmings, right over the cliff to their own destruction. Today as in the day of David, God is looking down to find anyone of genuine faith. Jesus asked the question, “When the Son of Man returns, will He find faith on the earth?” People today run to and fro claiming great wisdom and knowledge of what is true and right…the Lord declares they are ignorant and lost. But, we are assured that the Lord will always have a remnant that have not gone off into heresy…my prayer for all that are reading this, is that you all are in that remnant.
Please share your thoughts.
