AUGUST 1 READING…2 CORINTHIANS 5
Our bodies are our God given tent. Paul uses tent because a tent was never meant to be a permanent structure. Our bodies are not our permanent structures either. They are a beautiful temporary dwelling place that we live in until the Lord, in His own time, let’s us move into our permanent eternal bodies. That which will be for all of us believers in Christ, will be so much better than what is. Oh how wonderful, no more pain…no more sickness…no more bad reports from the doctors…and never having to say goodbye. We have the great promise that while we are here, God has provided our bodies…but we also have the promise that when we leave here we will be with the Lord forever. Jesus promised this is John 14…”In My Father’s house there are many mansions…and I go to prepare a place for you. And since I go, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am you may be also.” Because we know of this certain promise, we live our lives to honor and glorify the Lord. We as believers understand that eternity awaits all of us. The only question is…”where are you going to spend eternity?” Jesus is the only way to an eternity with God! In Christ, we have been made into new creations…all the old is gone, and all things have been made new. Not only for an hour or a day…not even for a lifetime…but for eternity.
