APRIL 26, 2024 ~ A WALK THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT

APRIL 26 READING…JOHN 17

John 17 is such a precious, but powerful chapter. It is here John records for us Jesus’ prayer in the garden before He would go to the cross. The shortest part of thei prayer is when Jesus prays for Himself. This portion is a declaration of a mission being fulfilled. He connects with His Father…and desire to be once again with His Father, and that they would be made known to all people. Then Jesus prays for His disciples…for He knew what they would face. They would literally be sent out as sheep among the wolves….but they did not need to worry for they would always have Jesus, the great Shepherd…His rod and His staff would give them great comfort. Jesus prays for them to keep His Word, be sanctified, and to carry on the mission of Christ. The last part of Jesus’ prayer was for us. We are part of those who believe because of the testimony and teachings of the Apostles. It is incredible to think that we were on His mind and heart there in the garden. Jesus spoke of His desire to be within us, and we in Him…that we all might experience the love the Father has for the Son from eternity past.

Please share your thoughts.
