APRIL 17 READING…DEUTERONOMY 33-34 & PROVERBS 17
What will be our legacy? As each of our lives move toward that day when we will step aside, put off this fleshly garment we dwell in, and step into eternity…what will we leave behind? I am not talking about material things, they are ultimately meaningless and of no eternal value. Will we walk out of this life knowing that it was well lived in the Lord…and as we go blessings those God has put in our lives? Moses had come to the end of his long life, 120 years on the earth. He was not a perfect man, but he was a man called of God, who walked with God like no other man ever has, and he left an incredible legacy of faith. His faith in God touched and changed a whole nation and beyond. We are still being touched by the life of Moses…we are literally part of his legacy. You might say, “well, I’m no Moses” …none of us are. But, we have all been given a sphere of influence by God, and He expects us to walk in faith, that those in the sphere would be touched by our walk. We can all leave a legacy that touches eternity…we can all leave a legacy of faith. God will use that to touch people we will never even meet this side of heaven. Proverbs, once again, tells us what it is to walk in faith…as it calls us to walk in the wisdom of God. Foolish living will hurt our legacy of faith, and might even cause some to reject anything having to do with biblical faith. As we walk in the Lord’s wisdom we enhance the legacy of faith that we both give and leave to others.
Please share your thoughts.
