APRIL 12 READING…DEUTERONOMY 26-27 & PSALM 19 & PROVERBS 12
In today’s reading we are reminded that God instructs us in His way in order for us to walk in the blessings that He intends for us. Conversely, when we chose to walk contrary to His way, there are consequences, some dire. After God had instructed His people in Deuteronomy of His way for them, He then spoke to them of the consequence each tribe would face for their disobedience. Sin always has a cost. In Psalms we are told about how God reveals Himself. To all people He has revealed Himself… “The heavens declare the glory of the Lord”. And to His specific people He reveals Himself… “The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul”. Mankind is without excuse when we decide to enter into sin, and live our lives contrary to the will and way of God. In Proverbs we are called to love the way of the Lord, and whoever hates it, is stupid. The fool goes their own ways, deceiving themselves that their way is good. They reject the way of the Lord and bring trouble upon themselves and others. The way of the righteous (those who follow God’s way) is life…and there is the promise of eternal life.
